Holy Spirit Keep The Fire Burning…
Verses Referenced: Leviticus 6:13 and 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19
I’m the last person to look to for perfection, however it doesn’t mean I don’t strive for it. I’ve been in the faith for awhile now going on 17 years, but believe me it’s been no perfect walk…. actually really far from it.
If you have been in the faith for awhile, let’s not kid ourselves we have done things that we are far from proud of and we have all skeletons in our closest that we are so happy that God has forgotten about, because he said would. We have experienced various seasons, some where we are on fire and others where we are stone cold. Believe me I know, because recently I had to make the active decision to recommit myself to Christ and the vision he had for my life.
In the Old Testament of Leviticus God told the Israelites:
A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. (Leviticus 6:13)
I believe that verse has a direct correlation with what Paul said in the New Testament:
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit.
